These are the three areas of life that require leadership skills that I have had success in as a coach for any man desiring to grow:

Small business ownership

Most small business owners are guys with a skillset they excel in, but as the enterprise expands, they recognize they have gaps in their abilities to lead others well. Coaching can be very effective by offering a safe place to admit the obvious, commit to change, fail without failure, and actually adopt new strategies for success.

Husband

If there were ever a job description that cries out for a coach, it has to be Ephesians 5:25 – “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her.” If this seems desirable, yet unattainable, you’re in a very coachable mindset. Entering into a wholehearted pursuit of this is guaranteed to do at least one thing: create far more Christlikeness in you! While it is likely that it will improve your marriage and family, that isn’t a good primary goal because you do not have the final say on success in others. What you can know is that you will hear Christ say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Father
